Chester Gould: An American Original

In 2007, the Museum board was approached by Woodstock resident Tom Firak and his sons, John and Steve (both film students at Columbia College in Chicago), with their proposal for the filming of a feature-length documentary exploring the life of Chester Gould. The board offered its’ blessing and over the past several years the Firak’s have worked tirelessly crafting their film which takes the viewer on a fantastic journey from Chester Gould’s roots in Oklahoma through every stage of his dynamic career to his successors creating the Dick Tracy comic strip and the legacy he left.

Tom, John and Steve have very graciously given the museum the opportunity to air the first “sneak-preview” trailer of their tremendous project for viewing by our members. Stay tuned for more…
